The Prisoner of Zenda Ends Night Assault in Strelsau
The narrator and Colonel Sapt flee from a staged cellar scene after Josef is slain guarding the king. They ride to Strelsau to seize the throne by posing as the king and return to the palace ready to enact their ruse. Fritz von Tarlenheim greets the king, and Sapt teases the healer’s ruse as the king feigns recovery. The escape ends with a confident show of loyalty and a staged royal welcome for the king.
