Third-quarter results show MPI fiscal 1999 2000 improving
Manitoba Public Insurance reports a nine month net operating surplus of 10 million driven by a 4.2 percent rise in premiums written and a 10 million gain in investment income. Funds moved to the Basic Insurance Rate Stabilization Reserve help cushion motorists from rate hikes while about 460 000 Manitoba vehicle owners will pay less when renewing or purchasing insurance as the new year begins.
