Anita Schoch Mrs J S Dickey was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower in the Church Parlors on Friday January 10 1958. Miss Mason Smuttell and Donna Walker plus Chris Leknd brought gifts while Mrs Wm Taylor Lang soloed. A contest won by Mrs M Smuttell and Ada Hyndman followed lunch for over 60 ladies.

Dickey-Schoch Wedding Held in Crandall
Anita Kathleen Schoch and John Stewart Dickey wed at the Schoch home in Crandall on January 4 at 3 30 PM officiated by Rev A Friebert Oak River. The ceremony featured blue grey satin and white carnations with a three tier cake and buffet reception. Honeymoon plans include a Winnipeg stop and return to Binscarth where Dickey works for the Royal Bank.

The Hamiota Women's Institute met January 7 in the Community Room at 2:30. Rev K Moffatt spoke with poetry excerpts from Chaucer to Kipling. The group arranged use of the room for community events and noted rental terms and calendar bookings. An Brandon program offers Feb 3–7 courses on horticulture, flower arrangement, and crafts with a tour and handicraft workshop. February guests Mr. and Mrs. Pue from Brandon will discuss creating space in small homes.
