The 1st Hamiota Scout Troop spent December 21 and 22 1991 at a woodlot near Hamiota learning winter camping. Eight scouts and three leaders hiked in on the first day and built lean to shelters and later four quinzes. Guests joined for tea and outdoor cooking activities, with emphasis on safety and cooperation.
Manitoba Public Utilities Board approves Company Order 156/91 for Centra Gas effective January 1. Annualized change is 1.0 percent overall, with residential Winnipeg up 1.4 percent about $10 yearly and Brandon up 3.1 percent about $22 yearly plus a $1 monthly fixed charge in Brandon. Hoffman cites recessionary times and the energy source’s economical and environmental advantages.

The program follows a December publication mailed to all grain producers, with Agriculture Minister Bill McKnight calling it the start of an important process.
