Beef and Swine Club Meeting Sets Weigh-In
The 4-H Beef and Swine Club held its first meeting of the season on December 10 at Roy and Carol Forrest home in Kenton. Members agreed to weigh the 4-H steers on December 29 at Roy Forrest's and set the 4-H Bonspiel for February 13 with February 20 as alternate date. The club plans an award for the top gaining steer and assigned Ronald Sangster to explore film options for the next meeting. The next gathering is January 14 at Duncan Wilson's home.

Pensioners to See Higher Old Age Security Benefits
Health and Welfare Minister Jake Epp announced to begin January 1988 increases to Old Age Security and related benefits. The maximum OAS rises to 310.66, GIS for single pensioners to 369.21, GIS for low income couples to 240.47 per spouse, Spouse's Allowance to 551.13, and Widowed Spouse's Allowance to 608.46.
