Local retailers NYAL Quality and Rexall Store operate as agents for Victor radios expanding access to popular wireless sets. The arrangement places Victor models in shops across town, with service and components available through the two outlets.
The Christ Church Anglican notice outlines Lent activities for March 1936 including First Sunday in Lent on the 11th with 11.30 a.m. service and 7 p.m. Evensong and sermon The Incomparable Christ The Challenge of Life Aimed at Education week. It asks members to read St John daily pray meditate attend services during Lent and deny self pleasures until Easter.
Reverend T D Barnett presides with 11 a m service titled The Puritans and a 12 10 Sunday School. At 7 p m Peer Gynt presented with discussion. Hear Grieg music selections Morning Mood and The Death of Ase.
Arthur Fraser passed piano and cornet tests in Winnipeg and signed for a three year term with Captain James’s Princess Patricia Band. Arthur Dillon, a Brandon technical student, plays with the 45th Battalion Band and both boys previously led by Mr. Squibb of the Hamiota Band. The community applauds Mr. Squibb’s efforts to mentor youth. Education Week at Hamiota School is postponed to March 5 and 6 due to a cold outbreak. parents and others are invited to visit classes next Thursday and a student programme is planned Friday afternoon with addresses from School Board members.
