A large gathering met in the Orange Hall on Friday to oppose the proposed abandonment of the C N R Beulah to Hallboro branch and the C P R Hamiota to Miniota section. Delegates from all affected municipalities spoke and a committee led by Reeve Chas Penny of Hamiota was formed to coordinate with E K Williams on the matter.
K.C. represented Winnipeg before the railway transport board of commissioners. Financial support was guaranteed by six municipalities Hamiota Miniota Blanshard Langford Odanah and Saskatchewan.
Birth notices list a daughter born February 18 to Mr and Mrs Harvey A Andrew in Saskatoon. A son born February 16 at Hamiota Hospital to Mr and Mrs Francis Squibb of Hamiota Manitoba. A son born February 13 at Shoal Lake Hospital to Mrs Wilkinson Cochrane of Hamiota Man. Lloyd Whyte of the Fort Garry Horse visited his mother here over the weekend.
The Bishop of Brandon Rt. Rev. W. W. H. Thomas visited Hamiota and Miniota over the weekend with services in Christ Church Hamiota and a large crowd at Miniota. Also notes on local events including a Red Cross wool drive, a piano sale, dances, and upcoming festivals.

The biggest Conservative gathering in Marquette area history filled the Masonic Hall in Shoal Lake on Monday. Delegates nominated three candidates William J Burgess Hamiota Robert Peden Rossburn and Cecil Rice Minne dose. Robt Peden chosen as the delegate’s final candidate with speeches from Senator J T Haig Burgess and others.
