Rollingdale Workshop aids mentally retarded adults in Cardale
The Rollingdale Workshop for mentally retarded adults in Cardale refinishes furniture upholsters chairs and crafts. It serves 32 eligible clients from Minnedosa to Shoal Lake and Erickson with 21 attending regularly and 15 to 19 present daily. Staff of four are funded by a LIB grant and monitor each attendee progress. Managers Mrs Lorna Greer and Mrs Joan Shamray plan the 1976 program and yearly goals. Visitors are welcome.

Oak River's Mr Fix-it Reaches 90 Milestone
Oak River marks the 90th birthday of Mr. Glinz known as Uncle Art or Mr Fix-it. Still active at ninety he uses the same Racers skates from 1909 1910 racing days in Brandon Minnedosa and Rapid City. He has one daughter Olive Thoms of Flin Flon and sons Frank Hamilton Gerald Truro and a son Donald lost in WWII. He spends winters mending sticks and summers repairing bicycles, doing most work gratis as social credit.

Rivers Foursome Tops at Cardale
The mixed Annual Bonspiel in Cardale crowned the Rivers Seed Cleaning Plant rink of Keith Lamb Mary Lamb Frank Butterfield and Mike Kunka as champions earning the Mard Wiltsey Memorial trophy. Other prize winners included Henry Winder Newdale second in Grand Challenge and Fraser Angus Oak River with Jim Geekie Strathclair taking 3rd and 4th.

Annual Band Meeting in Hamiota Chooses New Exec
The Hamiota Band committee met February 6 in the Collegiate with 20 members present. Mrs. Irene Wilson opened, electing a new executive led by President Val Doupe and Vice President Lorna Robertson. A March 12 meeting aims to decide band structure while a Brandon University concert trip is set for March 7. Three students Jody Kirk Elayna Shier and Hugh Wilson earned top placements at a Brandon University music workshop February 4–6.

Play School Assoc Meet in Hamiota February Session
The February meeting of the Hamiota Playschool was held February 9 in the Community room. Superintendent Bill Davison spoke on playschool goals and parent concerns. Start-up grant arrived. maintenance grant due quarterly. The group voted to run the playschool until May 31. By-laws to be presented March 8 by Dave Giesbrecht. A future guest may be Miss Betty Gibson from the University of Brandon.

Valentine party for Hamiota seniors noted at 47 members
The Senior Citizens of Hamiota held a February 11 Valentine party with 47 members attending. Activities included 11 card tables, music and recitations by George Peacock and Lil, Kate Sunley and Lois Vickery, piano by Hazel Rhyne, lunch served, and three birthdays celebrated. Hostesses were Mrs. M. Anderson, Mrs. V. Butler, and Mrs. E. Mundell.
