Village Council Selects Temporary Secretary During Meeting

The Village Council held a special meeting to appoint a temporary secretary, naming Mrs. Conroy of Virden who had served as assistant before her marriage. Afterward, they inspected the back lane where ashes on snow drew complaints, meeting Mr. William Moore who claimed a right to half the lane and spoke sharply, pledging to act as he pleased.

Red Cross Ambulance Appeal Documented

The Hamiota Unit Army and Navy Veterans in Canada receives a framed Red Cross photograph of the ambulance donated by Hamiota citizens. The photo will be displayed in local businesses and then hung in the Council Chamber. The Manitoba Division notes the ambulance served in bombed British areas and will seek further details from the London Committee.
