Rivers Junior Ringette Tops Local Tournament
Hamiota hosted the sixth annual Ringette Tournament on February 7 1988 with five visiting teams. Rivers won the A side final 6 5 against Hamiota after a 4 1 deficit, then defeated Reston 14 7 and Brandon 5 2 with strong goaltending by Kim Brooks and solid defense from Denise Lori Shauna and Trina. Boissevain won the B side final 11 4 over Dauphin. Trophy presentations honored Rivers and Boissevain with Konowalchuk and Kinsmen honors, and local volunteers and sponsors received thanks for a successful event.
