Agriculture Minister Bill Uruski proclaimed Saturday February 19 as Women's Institute Day in Manitoba. Christmas Seal Campaign Wraps Up in Manitoba
The Manitoba Lung Association closed its 1962 Christmas Seal Campaign with a 10 percent rise over 1961. Despite fewer Manitobans contributing, the average gift reached a record $458,535. Funds support educational pamphlets, clinic and school outreach, and research into asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis, plus preventive TB control and asthma programs.

Hamiota Receives Grants for Golf Course Greens

Westman Winter Games kick off this weekend in Manitoba
The Westman regional finals run February 18 to 20 in Minnedosa and across the region. About 450 athletes compete in Badminton, Cross Country Skiing, Old Timers Hockey, and Co-ed Volleyball with Bethany hosting Ladies Masters Curling. Opening ceremonies start Saturday at 2:00 PM. spectators are welcome to all events.

Delgaty’s Honored at Surprise Church Party

The Oak River Pee Wee Tournament of Champions drew teams from Dauphin Shoal Lake Minnedosa Deloraine Hartney Neepawa Morden Winkler Brandon TransX Portage Flin Flon The Pas and Wawanesa. Dauphin won the final over The Pas earning gold medals and the Oak River Quick Freeze Trophy and an invitation to Brandon in April. The Pas won silver with a Blanchard trophy.
