Brandon College becomes Manitoba's second university
The province will recognize Brandon College as its second university effective July 1, 1967. Education minister Hon. George Johnson informed college president Dr. John Robbins on February 1 that the order-in-council authorizing the degree granting institution had passed, after recommendations by the Council on Higher Learning.

Manitoba Hospital Premiums To Stay Steady In 1966
Manitoba will hold hospital premiums at current levels despite a 12 million dollar rise to the Hospital Commission. Health minister C H Witney told the legislature that overall health program funding would rise to 83.6 million from 70 million, while hospitals seek roughly 20 percent more than last year. He warned a 10 percent generic rise could strain resources and require reductions in new services and improvements.

Congregational Meeting at Hamiota Gospel Chapel

S M C Holds Meeting at Mrs Munshaw’s Home
The February meeting of the Missionary Council of the Gospel Chapel was held at Mrs Munshaw’s. The program included Psalm 119 devotion, a roll call planned for next month, and a tea towel, with the words whoso ever in the verse. Reports covered the Pentecostal church in Canada and a northland minister known as the flying parson. Missionary letters from five countries were read and baking parcels prepared for Bible School students. The WM C day service is set for February 19 at 11. Lunch and fellowship followed.

World Day of Prayer Observed at Gospel Chapel
Seventy women from United, Anglican and Pentecostal churches gathered at the Gospel Chapel for prayer. Mrs. Rutherford delivered the message highlighting the World Day of Prayer history and the theme And of His Kingdom There Shall Be No End. An offering of 32.60 was sent to the Women's Inter-Church Council for distribution toward Christian literature worldwide.
