Milford Kirk Obituary Highlights Chumah Community Leader
Samuel Milford Kirk, born August 17, 1896 in Chum Jah, died January 25 after a heart illness. He served in WWI with the 8th battalion and farmed thirty seven years on his present farm. A Crandall LOL member and active community worker, he left a sister Laura Kennedy of Vancouver and sixteen nieces and nephews. Funeral services were January 31 at Hamiota United Church with Rev. Moffatt. Orangemen attended. pallbearers included six Kirk nephews. Interment followed at Hamiota Cemetery.
