The Women's Aid to the Hamiota Hospital District No 7A met January 22 in Hamiota with nine districts present. Minutes were adopted. a one year self allocation plan was agreed. The group discussed renovations, planned public information meetings, and a March referendum. The treasurer reported a 1664.76 balance and six loans to students. Volunteers for the cart project are welcome.

The group decided to send ten dollars to Cancer Fund March of Dimes and Arthritis Society and support the Red Cross Canvass again. Members to submit photos for a WS history book and bring blocks to the February meeting at Mrs Olive Newton’s on February 16. The WS will pay half the church grounds maintenance costs. Each member to cover a monthly topic. Mrs Olive Newton won the adjourned session and Mrs Nora McConnell served lunch.

The Explorers gathered in the church basement on Monday January 25 with five members present. After business a study on the Children of Canada became a quiz. Worship was led by Mrs Sclater with Leanne Coulson assisting. Novelty boxes were made during activity period.

Officers elected include Daum as president Russell as vice president B Gurr as secretary treasurer Munshaw as Sunshine Convenor and committee roles for Buying Parcelling missionary reporting and printing. Reports praised 10 meetings and a rally at Rivers plus donations to Pioneer Workers French Work and other funds. Figure Skating Executive Meet Hamiota Club
The Hamiota Figure Skating Club executive met at 4 p.m. January 29 at the rink. Garry Campbell presided. Ber Nice Lewis and Dorothy Dixon served as secretary and treasurer. Connie Oprak reported progress on the Ice Show slated for February 19 and plans to take the show to Kenton on February 20 were unanimously approved. The club has 83 members, with Marilyn Smith, Sandra Woods, and Anita Lewis assisting with beginners. Fifteen girls are registered for Figure Skating.
