Hamiota Business Club Joins Manitoba Chamber of Commerce
The Hamiota Business Club will cease to exist on January 1 1993 and join the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce. The move expands focus to all local businesses and organizations while maintaining monthly meetings under new officers Chairperson Barry Burkitt Vice-Chairman Greg Bankowski and Secretary Treasurer Kori Gordon. Community responds to needy at Christmas in Hamiota
The Hamiota Christmas Cheer Board, eight years old, coordinates hampers of food and gifts for those in need. This season seeks at least eight hampers and relies on community support from United Churches Decker and Hamiota, T.O.P.s, scouts, school staff, the Thrift Shop, and local groups. Referee Week contributions by 17 Hamiota minor hockey referees, including youths as young as 13, donate pay from a game or part of it.
