Royal Train Is Canadian Pace Finest Ever Assembled
The Royal Train for The Prince of Wales Prince George and Premier Baldwin travels from Montreal westward aboard the Mount Stephen Strathcona Wentworth Killarney and other private cars. The Mount Stephen serves as dining room and lounge with walnut finishings and blue accents while the Strathcona houses the princes sleeping quarters. The locomotives are G-3-d type of CPRs 2500 class hauling the entire special across Canada toward the Rockies.

Decker Ladies Host Curling Rink Formations and Play
The Ladies' Carling club met on December 8 at Mrs A L Decker's home to organize for the season. Rinks were formed with named skips and members including Valerie Clack, Nellie Yates, Myrtle Gregory, and Mary Bowman hosted by Decker. The final performance of the smedy drama Between the Acts at Solagirth school drew a large audience and raised about 15000 for the school music fund. Miss Bowman visited and spoke to Isabella, Ortwold, and Decker congregations. The Corona Lumber Co stock-take followed by Mrs Munroe and O G L T mothers. The Ladies' Aid and WMS held a Christmas meeting at Mrs Alexander's. the bazaar balance reached 153.

The Hamiota Horticultural Society met on Tuesday evening December 15 with strong turnout. Auditors reported substantial prize money paid last year and a small treasury balance. Officers elected include President F H Squibb and Vice Presidents J F Jordan and W Juerzins. The 1929 show is planned for August 16 and 17, and retiring president Dr H M Reid was named honorary president. The society notes continued growth in exhibitors and prize entries from 1924 to 1928 and thanks donors for prizes.
