The Chamah public school and Mission Band host a Christmas tree in the church on Friday December 19 with a good program and a light supper afterward. Admission is 25 cents.

Sale of Work at WA Christ Church Hamilta

The WA of Christ Church Hamilta held its annual Sale of Work in the Orange ball on December 10. An excellent selection of stitches and a ready sale plus candies and lunch tables aided proceeds. About 130 dollars was realised, reflecting well on the ladies efforts. The Canadian Order of Foresters lodge meeting patrons attended, and thanks are given to Messrs Burrows and Haunter for films shown on the cinema screen.

Obituary: Joseph Kidd of Oak River Passes at 89

Joseph Kidd of Oak River died Friday December 12. He moved from Gananoque in 1880 and lived in Blanchard municipality for 33 years. He was 89 years and ten months old. Survived by his wife who died six weeks earlier, two sons and seven daughters including Mrs Miles Ekeston. Funeral Sunday at Oak River cemetery with Rev. C Woods officiating.

McConnell A D McConnell Joins Seed Fair Judging Tour

McConnell A D McConnell left Wednesday morning for a week of seed fair judging in various towns. The Social Club plans a debate next Tuesday December 23 on whether women should have equal rights at the polls with men. Communion services were held at Ellenville and McConnell last Sunday. A vote on consolidation is slated for Friday. Reube Pangman has moved into a new house.

Oak River Seed Fair Showcases Strong AgriculturalResults

The Oak River Agricultural Society held its third annual Seed Fair and Dressed Poultry Exhibit in the hall on Saturday with record entries in grain and potatoes and a large crowd. Judges praised addresses and the Anglican W A Bazaar raised funds for the treasury. Prize winners include Red Fyfe wheat Roy Murray first and W R Harris second, oats first W R Harris, barley two categories won by Jno Blake and C Winstone, potatoes first W McFarland and red potatoes first W Miller, plus numerous animals and dressed poultry prizes led by Jos Hanna and C Henry among others.
