Fund Raising Plans Unveiled for Hamiota Sports Complex
The Hamiota and District Sports Complex Fund Raising Committee set December 5 meetings with eighteen attendees. They reported a $500,000 grant to be spent or earmarked by March 31, 1991 and discussed Winnipeg lobbying, cement blocks fund raisers, 1991 cash calendars, Loonie Lotto and penny collections, with sales targets and calendar distribution to distant buyers. Jim Scott and Karen Mathison will manage block sales. proceeds support curling and hockey ice surfaces pending further funding. Community involvement and ongoing fundraising were praised as essential.
