Hamiota Christmas Dinner held at community centre
Dinner marks community spirit as Jim and Marie Scott and Del and Lauretta Pierce plan the annual Christmas feast on December 25. The event, free of charge, started four years ago to help those who spend Christmas alone and has grown each year with support from local families and donors. Attendance in 1995 reached 65 and 80 the following year, with about 16 helpers and donations from residents. Donations are welcomed, cash preferred for ease of purchase, and meals served at 4 30 p.m. at the Hamiota Community Centre. Attendees are asked to notify organizers before December 21.
