Greens Grow Christmas Trees Near Arrow River

George and Donna Green run a small organic Christmas tree farm four and a half miles south of Arrow River. They sell Scots Pine and Red Pine trees for 22 dollars, encourage self picking, and have donated a tree to Birch Lodge for three years. Manitoba rural high schools join interactive television project

More than 15,000 students across about 80 Manitoba rural high schools will gain access to a broader range of courses through an eight million dollar interactive television system funded by the Canada Manitoba Infrastructure Works Agreement. Phase one forms clusters of 80 schools enabling live two way video and audio lessons, with francophone schools connected to share French language programming and substantial savings for rural divisions. The project creates over 70 jobs during installation and aims to keep education dollars effective while expanding local community resources.
