Manitoba Hydro reports net income of 18.8 million for the six months ended September 30 1996 up from a 3.4 million loss a year earlier. Revenue total 472.3 million and extrapro vincial sales 140.4 million. A severe September storm damaged HVDC lines raising costs and reducing net revenue by about 5.6 million with 3.8 million restoration costs.
Brandon Wheat Kings veteran Cory Cyrenne visited Hamiota on Monday to speak to grade 10 students about drug awareness. RCMP officer Cst. Debbie Beck joined the session, followed by a Q and A on his hockey career and experiences.
