On November 10, 1982 the Miniota 4-H Beef Calf Club held its reorganizational meeting with new and returning members. New officers were elected: President Richard Tyhy, Vice President Nelson Moorehead, Secretary Lori Bryant, Treasurer Kevin Clark, Reporter Darlene Clark. Meetings are set for the second Tuesday each month. December 11, 1982 plans include weighing and tagging calves.

The Hamiota Branch No. 174 of The Royal Canadian Legion highlights a busy 1982 with community projects. Donations included a scissor stretcher for the ambulance, a care home suite, and funding for a painting at the Cenotaph. The branch ran weekly hall bingo and expanded Hall facilities, added oxygen equipment, and welcomed 14 new members to a 57-member total.
