Slaughter cattle payout for June was 10.23 per head or 0.90 per wt, with Q4/90 slaughter premiums at 8.10 per head. The Q4/90 feeder cattle premium rose to 5.50 per head. With Bactril M removed from flax labels, farmers should use a fall pre emergence product like trifluralin, applied granularly to reduce erosion, and sow flax shallowly into warm moist soil to minimize early growth damage.
