Grants under Destination Manitoba’s Tourist Attractions Program were announced by federal and provincial ministers. Flin Flon Trout Festival received 7000 for promotional expansion and video production, Swan Valley Museum 2000 for marketing and Harvest Festival promotion, while Renwicks Travel of Devon England received 900 to develop a new Manitoba tour package.

Four Honored by Hall of Fame in Souris Ceremony
The Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame announced its fourth annual Dedication Ceremony on July 9 1981 in Souris Manitoba in conjunction with the town centennial. Four pioneer agriculturists James Duthie Hartney Thomas Harrison Winnipeg Leslie Robson Deleau and Jennie Watt Birtle were inducted with officials including Minister of Agriculture James Downey and Mayor Dennis Tanguay in attendance. The event announced future dedication sites across Manitoba and a move to the Keystone Centre Brandon for better display space.

Grant Awarded for Hamiota Pool Facility Upgrade
