Truckers to compete in interprovincial fuel economy challenge

The Interprovincial Fuel Economy Challenge, a joint effort of EMR Canada Manitoba Energy and Mines and Ontario Trucking, runs August 11 14 and 17 20 along the Trans Canada Highway Winnipeg to Kenora. Over 100 drivers vie to save fuel with awards planned in Winnipeg August 28.

Manitoba grants funds to International Peace Garden

Natural Resources Minister Leonard Harapiak announced a 63700 grant from Manitoba for operation and maintenance of the International Peace Garden this year. He highlighted Manitoba's role with Canada and North Dakota in promoting peaceful relations and noted the garden draws about 180000 visitors in 1986.
