Manitoba to Add Area Codes by Sept 4 1994
The Manitoba area code system requires dialing an area code for long distance calls starting Sept 4 with a permissive period until January 1995. Doug Delgatty, VP of Regional Operations Brando, says three numbers must be dialed. without it the call will trigger a recording. The new North American system includes 11 digit dialing and will affect Winnipeg 204 area calls and Alabama 334.
