Thistle Control Options For Harvest Season
Thistle problems rise as harvest comes earlier this year. Effective chemical control requires sufficient regrowth after harvest. Expensive products like Amitrol T Banvel and Roundup offer high control, while cheaper options such as Kil Mar Target MCPA and 2 4 D Amine provide good value with more regrowth next year. A typical plan is 2 4 D Amine 500 g l at 0 91 L acre in 45 L water, plus tillage after three weeks, about 2 75 per acre. An in crop treatment next year may be needed to address regrowth. Manitoba Farm Women's Directory sales at the office for 2.00 each, with sections on government departments, associations, media guide, and speakers bureau useful to agriculture.
