Manitoba departments specify migratory waterfowl seasons by zone with dates from September to November, duck limits up to eight daily and 16 possession, mallard and canvasback rules by zone, and goose limits at five daily. Morning only shooting applies in zone four and Oak Hammock. Licences cost wildlife certificate 2.25 and game bird licences 4 to 40 based on residency. seniors 65 plus may obtain licences free with in person application.

About 60 guests attended as Lynne Thompson read a speech while Debbie received gifts including kitchenware and linens. Guests enjoyed a luncheon following the gift viewing and Debbie expressed thanks.

Couple Honored at McConnell Center Farewell
Friends and neighbors gathered in the McConnell Community Center on July 17 to bid farewell to Bob and Ottolena Riddell. Andy Little and Mary Little escorted them inside. Bill Thompson gave the address. The couple received a community table lamp and expressed thanks. Whist games followed by a luncheon provided by the organizing committee.

Armor coat seeks to cut highway upkeep costs
Mile Highways Minister Peter Burtniak cites tests of a protective asphalt system that could trim maintenance by about a third. Current seal coats on 450 to 500 miles cost roughly $4 300 per 24 foot wide mile, adding a half inch to pavement. A Gilsonite method, a natural asphalt variant, is being trialed in Manitoba. The 1975-76 Grade II class presented a red schoolhouse with gifts. a game led by Barbara Brown awarded a wooden spoon to the bride. Lunch followed.
