Transportation minister Steve Ashton announced changes to Manitoba s Private Vehicle Inspection Program. Beginning Sept 1 annual certificate validity replaces two years and inspection fees rise from 40 to 45 dollars. The move aims to improve road safety and reflect costs since 1995.
The Woodworth community celebrated the grand opening of its 1 728 sq ft municipal office and fire hall on August 1 with 250 attendees. Dignitaries included MP Rick Borotsik MLA Larry McGuire and ACM directors Roy Stevenson and Peter Heide. Reeve Denis Carter cut the ribbon as the building, housing council chambers, admin offices, a kitchen, and space for Woodworth Senior Services, opened after a September previous start and February move. Construction cost about 200000 funded from the Nominal Surplus Fund. The old 1947 building may be sold to Dale Willard of Duck Mountain Design.
