Con Artists Target Homes With Three Scams Warned
Westman Weekly reports Brandon police warning the elderly and others about roving gypsy families from several countries using three scams. A home invasion ploy asks for water or a phone, a flim flam uses a hundred dollar bill and distractions, and a business invasion hides goods in an apron while salespeople distract. Police advise not inviting strangers in and to call the police with questions.
