Miniota Museum Update From Shauna Mathison
The Miniota Municipal Museum hosts weekly story hours for children from 2:30 to 3:30 on Tuesdays and Fridays, begun July 30 with refreshments provided. A rock and fossil hunt at Cook's gravel pit yielded Selenite and Red Ochre with no fossils. An Earth Medicine and Earth Foods seminar is planned for August 13–14 with a $5 registration due by August 9, featuring a plant field trip, catered supper, and tours. Visitors from across Canada and overseas have attended, and only one new item, a carving fork and steel donated by the Fred Foster family, has been added since the last article. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the museum beside the rink on Highway 83.
