Folklorama Tour a three day Winnipeg celebration
A group of 34 enjoyed a three day Folklorama tour August 6 to 8 in Winnipeg with visits to the Western Canada Aviation Museum Assiniboine Park Zoo and Imax Theater. Pavilions hosted evenings at the French Cultural Centre Manitoba Theatre Centre Red River College gym and Lower Fort Garry with performances from Les Danseurs de la Rivière-Rouge Ukraine Kiev and Ireland groups. Attendance projections exceed 600000 for 1991.

The Shoal Lake Agricultural Society staged the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame dedication on August 8 1991. Two Manitobans were installed on the Roll of Honor Tom Hainsworth Deloraine and Garlin Vincent Ole Olesen Swan River. Four nominees Allen McCallister Portage la Prairie John Nesbitt Shoal Lake Sidney Ransom Boissevain and Dr James Harvey Tolton Oak Lake were inducted. Family reps were piped in after Ukrainian dancing and Ed Leland solos.

On August 7 in Hamiota a field of 89 golfers competed in the annual ladies tournament. Winners span multiple flights with Gerri Cooke topping the championship and Kay Geekie leading the first flight. Extra prizes honored longest drive closest to the pin and longest putt among others.
