Crandall August 3 1972 board meeting minutes show elected trustees approving minutes and financing, rescinding a 1972 policy change on student van and bus pickups, deferring routes, and retaining end of lane pickups with parental walking cooperation for moderate lanes. The addendum notes transportation policy reversal.
The Binscarth Orioles beat the Hamiota Red Sox 1-0 in eleven innings to clinch the series three games to one. Herb Andres earned the win, Ron Ramsey the loss, with key plays by Dale Gies and Reg Parton. The Red Sox finish with a team batting average record low for the season.
The Rolling River School Division board met on August 2 1972 reviewing six boiler tenders for Minnedosa Collegiate. Brandon Heating and Plumbing won a 5355 50 bid for installation with old boiler removal by staff. A 100 percent provincial grant funds the water softener to protect the heating system and 231 902 80 accounts were approved. Mrs May Hales named custodian for Rapid City schools with three applications received. The board debated selling the former North School site in Minnedosa and sent a letter to the Public School Finance Board. Financial statements for 1971 were distributed for next meeting review. Minutes from July 6 were adopted. By Law 5/72 A D sale of Scandinavia property read a first time and then passed on second and third readings. Bills 215 to 506 totaling 231 902 80 General were approved. Mrs Hales’ custodian appointment was accepted. Water softener installation will be done with the new boiler. The board adjourned to August 23 1972.
About five hundred NFU members gathered July 27 and 28 at the Marlborough Hotel in Winnipeg to discuss marketing problems. Manitoba Government representatives attended to hear issues and invited continued input. Two car loads from Local 511 were present.

Miss Jean Morrice of Winnipeg spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. J Morrice. Several locals and visitors from Kenton Winnipeg and Regina were noted visiting Park Residence and area families over the past week.
