Memories of a Decker Boyhood and School Life
Nostalgic reminiscence from a Decker community writer recalls Miss Ella B. Cumming a strict yet inspiring English teacher who turned learning into joy for grades 9 to 11. The piece also reflects on student observations of Bill Decker and Jim, cross-racial awareness, and a 1939 Echo excerpt featuring Rev Barnett at Decker United Church.
