Daylight Saving Begins in Manitoba in April
Manitoba resumes uniform daylight saving time starting the night of April 23 24 when clocks are moved forward one hour to 3 am. The measure applies province wide under the Official Time Act for six months from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October.

Centennial Ball at Crandall marks Miniota centennial year
Crandall Community Centre hosted a Centennial Ball on April 8 1983 as part of Miniota Municipality centennial celebrations. The gala featured era costumes by attendees The Generations orchestra judged costumes while prizes went to Mrs Edna Rogers Mrs Donna Bonner and Mrs Sylvia Leland. Judge selections covered couples authentic costume solo war years and Roaring Twenties categories. Corsages were given and door prizes awarded before an 11 pm buffet supper and further dancing.
