Additional speakers include Dr. Fraser Crandell Dr Roche MP Ottawa Clark Fraser Rev J M McLaren and Rev H D Leitch. G McIntyre named treasurer and Rev A W Smith to lead singing. Wednesday July 12 is Sunday School day with picnics and a conference planned. Registrars will solicit membership with a fee unchanged from last year.
LID GLUB restructured for the season at PF E Langdale’s office. Jim Chambers presides as president with Dr Hudson vice president and F C Bennett as secretary. Langdale and others serve on the executive committee. Membership fees set at $2 for gentlemen and $1 for ladies with a May 1 tournament to open the season and Langdale to host opening day.
Merchants along the Hallboro to Beulah CN R branch protested excessive freight charges and poor service. Railway commissioner Chairman Maybee set a fine of 400 daily for every day the line operated under the act, while CN R plans an appeal and awaits a settlement.
County Court met yesterday with a light docket. Cases included Ramilios vs Ab Finley over a seed drill sale with Langdale for plaintiff and Bennest for defendant. Also J Morton vs Ea Finley on a draft payment, Langdale for plaintiff and Bennest for defendant. Fr E Langdale for plaintiff in another case with Bennest for defendant. Minor wage cases were settled in court.
