Kentones Stage Fourth Annual Barbershop Show
The Kentones presented a March 19 show in Kenton Memorial Hall themed A Pitchpipe A Song and A Smile. Ken Hunter directed twenty one chorus members with Eileen Kent and others forming a quartet. Guests included Whatever Four and Genesis from Winnipeg. The event supported the Multiple Sclerosis Society with a donation and Afterglow entertainment closed the evening.

Hamiota Hosts Regional Seniors Carpet Ball and Bridge Events
In Hamiota Community Centre on April 8, twelve teams battled in the Seniors Carpet Ball playoffs with the Dorothy Campbell team led by Gordon Killoh winning the Levona Kerr trophy for highest score. Verna Reid’s trio finished third while Jessie Wall’s team took second. District 1 bridge and whist playoffs on April 5 produced top finishers Oak River, Hamiota, and Miniota advancing to Westman Regional finals in Brandon. Oak River won the regional to advance to Carman’s MSOS 55 Plus Provincial Games in June 1988, and Kelwood hosts April 20 finals.

The Hamiota Huskies swept the 9B section at the 6th Annual Varsity View Golden Falcon Olympic Hockey Tournament in Winnipeg April 8 10 defeating Emerson Heritage Flyers Oxford Heights Crescentwood Sabres Pinawa and winning the championship 4–0 over Vince Peac and the Huskies The team earned the Gold Division trophy and MVP honors went to Bob Andrews of Birtle with coaches Mel Smith and Harold Irwin praised by parents and players.
