Oak River W I Hosts Home Economist Speaker April Meeting
Oak River Women’s Institute hosted a Virden home economist as guest speaker for the April meeting. The session featured budgeting tips and the importance of budgeting, with 10 members attending. Eleven boxes of books were sent to the Children’s Hospital Book Market in Winnipeg, aided by local transport and donations from Park Residence and Oakner. last year’s sale raised 126000. Jean Henry received a Life Membership and Myrtle White was honored for 50 years in the WI. The group discussed conventions, delegate plans, and a quilted cushion display for the Tweedsmuir competition. Visitors welcome.
