RCMP to share manpower between Hamiota and Shoal Lake
RCMP detachments in Hamiota and Shoal Lake share on call duties in 3 week and 4 week blocks to cut costs. The plan aims to reduce a projected Manitoba RCMP deficit over $1 million and to pursue a broader resource sharing agreement. Councils in the two detachment areas mostly approved a one year trial with assurances no loss of resources. The decision awaits review by the RCMP Division Executive Committee.
