Health reform proposals presented to Manitoba government
Marcie Harrison reports that provincial health boards have until June to receive and review reform proposals after a March 31 deadline to plan resource sharing. The Mid West Health Association would cover nine communities including Birtle, Russell, Rossburn, Hamiota, Rivers, Shoal Lake, Minnedosa, Erickson and Sandy Lake. The plan creates three districts, aims to cut duplication, keep services closer to home, and enforce a no deficit policy while maintaining essential care.

Kentones prepare April show A Chording to the Weather
The Kentones barbershop chorus of Kenton United Church plans two performances on April 17 in Kenton Memorial Hall at 6:00 and 8:30 PM. The 22 member group, directed by Ken Hunter, will include guest quartet Free Spirit and two guest choruses. Proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba and the Manitoba Song Association.
