She was born in Pomtipooe England on November 7, 1887 and moved to Canada in 1913 settling at Lavinia before retiring in 1966 to Shoal Lake area. Funeral at Westminster United Church Saturday March 25 at 2 pm officiated by Rev J A Ross. Interment Shoal Lake Cemetery with pallbearers Raymond Foxton MacGrieve Horace McLeod Leonard Butler Earl Milne George Brown.

The McConnell Women’s Institute met at Mrs. Olive Newton’s home on March 21 with eight members and two visitors.
