Beck given another three weeks for plans
Hamburg city council extended Everett Beck’s deadline to abate a stated public nuisance at Main and E Streets after a lengthy hearing. Beck must submit written plans within one week, with city engineer inspection, leading to a July 10 hearing and an additional 60 working days to complete the work, plus a performance bond. The panel discussed walls, repairs, and possible new construction, while weather and labor doubts emerged. The council expressed a wait-and-see stance as the July hearing approached. The youth center at City Hall above the building was also noted as temporarily closed due to heat and lack of air conditioning, with reopening date to be announced.
