Memorial Day Observances and Local Disasters Recounted
Twenty years ago Memorial Day events were led by the Ishert Woodward Post of the American Legion with the Rai Oak Junior Drum Corps. A parade featured veterans and auxiliaries as Hambur residents mourned and a fire damaged several shops, injuring one man and altering plans for a Fourth of July celebration in Hamburg. George McKean narrowly escaped serious injury when his wagon hit a mower, and local acts were scheduled at the Deadwood Church and Tower of Bros venues as well as film bookings featuring Lon Chaney and Norma Shearer.

Flying trip brings Junlland grandmother home
