Nursing home approved for Sidney site
The Health Planning Council of the Midlands approved a 79 bed nursing home for Sidney after a May 23 delay due to lack of quorum. Sidney Area Development Corp. will build it at about 697000 dollars on land donated locally, with SBA funds and a Nebraska City operator group to manage rent-backed repayments. The council urged further elderly services to keep residents at home. Grape Community Hospital also plans a 30 bed facility, but that decision won’t affect Sidney plans.
