Death of Mrs A E Ford in Council Bluffs
The earthly remains of Mrs A E Ford, born June 1, 1882, died May 27, 1914, aged 81 years, 11 months, 22 days. Funeral at Mt Olive May 31. Rev M F Brewer officiated. Mrs Ford, born and raised in Hamburg, was well known here and mourned by the community. Decoration day at the cemetery drew a large crowd, with Rev A A Watburn praising the old soldiers and their 60s era deeds. The cemetery looked uneven due to drought but brightened by decorations. E Hinkens reported his wife’s health improving after illness. Oscar Geuberto and Miss Ida Fera Macksy of Farragut to wed June 10 at the bride’s home. Hamburg plans Fourth of July observances. council purchased a new street machine. city aims to improve streets and seek a team for work.

Sidney Stores Burglarized In Monday Night Looting
Robbers forced doors with tools stolen from a local blacksmith, looting three Sidney stores of merchandise clothing and jewelry totaling about 200 dollars. Boxes of cigars from Shannon's grocery, pocket knives from Travis DeFreece hardware, and shoes and jewelry from Hodge Joy Co. were taken.
