The Hamburg Gun Club held a big shoot on their grounds on Monday with a purse for all and a Dupont trophy for club members. R Weatherhead of Tabor won high in the first series and W E Laraway took the trophy. The program totaled 200 targets with 24 shooters and 40 completing the full run.

Participants must read the International Sunday Lessons for 52 weeks starting September 1 1910 and return weekly coupons with written answers for scoring.
The Modern Woodmen of America and Royal Neighbors will hold their annual memorial service next Sunday after noon June 5. Members meet at the K P hall at 1 30 pm and proceed to the Presbyterian church where Rev R Bruce West will speak. Afterward they will decorate graves at the cemetery. Public invited.
Notice to the public stating that on Wednesday mornings women and others may visit the cemetery by automobile to oversee improvements or suggest new ones. If a funeral occurs the trip is postponed for a week to prevent accidents from driving a steam vehicle to the cemetery.
The cereal mill formerly owned by Wirt Reed and H. Noble has been sold to the Waterloo Canning Company. Plans call for converting it into a vast cannery, with a new main facility to be built in the cereal mill building. The venture is expected to transform Hamburg into a prominent production center and improve local living.
Mrs Milda Adgerton Hutter died at the family home last Thursday May 26 after several weeks illness. Born in Boon county Indiana she moved to Iowa as a child near Riverton. She married Robert Huffer on December 24 1884 and they had eight children six survive. Funeral held at home Saturday with burial in Riverton. services by Rev Wright of the Christian church.
Mrs Heaston left Tuesday morning in response to a telegraph from her niece Mrs Chas Cox of Clarinda announcing the death Monday of Mrs Cox's child. This is the second death in the family within a week, another child dying the Friday before. Mrs Cox's condition was such that life was in great danger. Mrs Heaston left to render assistance. Mr and Mrs Cox formerly lived here and have numerous friends who sympathize with them in their sore trouble.
On Saturday May 28 John Hoffsass celebrated his sixty fourth birthday with a family reunion the next day and a sumptuous dinner. Several children could not attend due to military service while out of town guests included Alfred Hoffsass Will Hoffsass and wife of St Joseph and Miss Kate of Red Oak. Mr Hoffsass received many beautiful presents in memory of the occasion.
The Monroe family expresses gratitude to friends for sympathy and aid at the death and burial of son and brother WL Monroe. The nurse caring for W. Harris returned home to Omaha. Ray Harris is improving and recovery is underway.
