Fremont county board of supervisors met at the courthouse in Sidney in adjourned session, approving minutes, paying a long list of county and drainage expenses, appointing J. McCrame as county engineer for 1926 with a 2400 salary, and naming a drainage engineer. Additional routine reports and claims were reviewed and the meeting adjourned to February 2.

Mayor Simmons and party narrowly escape crash near Nebraska City
Mayor Josep Simmons of this city, his wife, and her sister Miss Lovina Bur-Tens had a close call Thursday evening when a wheel flew off their car near the F. M. Harney home. The vehicle swerved and struck a telephone pole, slightly damaging both women but the mayor escaped unharmed. They were cared for at the Harney home where assistance was summoned.
