Fred W. Hill publisher notes in the Hamburg Post Office Strand Class Matter. Fremont and adjoining counties fare one year. all other counties United States one year. $2.50 subscription with advance payment required. Subscriptions end when the paid time expires.
Henry F. Stapel is named acting postmaster at Rock Port, taking duties Friday after required clearances. The prior postmaster served twelve years after appointments by Presidents Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. no plans announced. In other notes, a vehicle accident last September left a man damaged and hospitalized with skull injuries, while a riverfront trip and related events are briefly mentioned with unclear details.
Fragmentary OCR text describes a bank robbery in progress near Batey Koy and a residence on Hamburg Street. Names Watson and McDonate appear with unidentified roles. Additional references to Thor, Mr and Mrs Harey Kecksna and avray suggest minor incidents or arrests.
Henry Hudson ships coal to Clarinda and local farmers plan a Rock Island visit. Mr and Mrs Miles Crock visit California, expecting to return home soon. Mrs A C Mitchell hosts a meeting with CLP ladies. Rev C P Heaton conducts regular services. Many residents attend entertainment in district schools and note anniversaries, visits, funerals, and family gatherings around Watson.
The church announces Sunday morning sermons on The Church's Greatest Enterprise and an evening program by the Missionary Circle on Accepting the Budget. Special music and a gate-church calendar, with Youth Society events, prayer meetings, and choir practice fill a busy week as Horace A. Larsen invites all to attend.
Reporter notes prayer meetings at Hoy Waters home and church activities at Zion Evangelical Church. Pastors to meet with Fellowship Commission. play The Lost Chireh staged by Intermediate and Union members. evening services at 7 30. Also Evangelical and Methodist notices on worship, stewardship program, religious home service, ladies aid quilting, choirs, Epworth League party, George Washington sermon, district men’s meeting, and Queen Esther society planned for February 24.
The church announces a full Sunday schedule with 9:00 morning worship and 6:30 evening services. Sunday school focuses on responsibilities of a good citizen. Special music and sermons include a talk on George Washington by Gypt. C D Mitchell of Silver City. Pastor F G Barnes invites all to join and seek spiritual fellowship.
