Town residents gather for calls and visits as Fraisher Dailey and others head to Fort Des Moines for military training. Neighbors host relatives from Shenandoah, Omaha, and Red Oak while Prof. Bradley arrives as new school superintendent. Attendees include Mr. and Mrs. George Meek, Miss Margaret Cowden, and many others, with picnics and family events noted across Riverton and nearby towns.
Attendees at T W Sheldon funeral last Monday included Lucille Burley of Montana Wil Sheldon of Burlington and Dr and Mrs Mel linger of Omaha among others A C Rogers family visited near Tabor Quinten Parkston and daughter Ileen spent time with Millard Tlenning near Randolph Fred and Grace Graham visited Yellowstone Park and Casper Wyoming Joe Bailes Sloan Iowa visited friends Ethel Sleiger and children returned to Malvern after a visit with her parents Mr and Mrs Andy and Mrs Frank Lord.
Mrs John Wherler and children of Wemaley Kansas visited a few days at W H Copeland residence. Mrs Emma Cullin spent the week at Morton Adams home in Glenwood. Oswald Henkie and Donald of Dunbar and John Lockett near Hamburg visited RB Lockett home. J L Barkison and family home from Anselmo after ten days with relatives. E Y Parson and family Ft R Johnston and family D W Graham motored to Omaha Sunday enjoyed a picnic at Krags park. Mrs Harry Snyder injured hand by crochet hook Saturday evening. hook removed and serious results not occurred. Floyd Keyser of Cheyenne Wells Colo visited relatives here a few days.
At a convention luncheon Thomas A. Edison and business associates celebrated the forty eighth birthday of “canned speech.” A speaker posed the seven leader qualities starting with C. All failed, including Edison. The list: charm, conscientiousness, character, competence, courage, celerity and caution.
A fragmented note recounts Edison as a genius inventor yet a weak dealer in questionnaires. Also mentions Hotel Conant in Omaha and a serious injury to Delia Lyons, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lyons near Knox, who fractured her left hip and was treated in an Omaha hospital with a plaster cast.
