The San lay Sun reports criticism of the intermediate algebra exam with claims the paper was harder and less practical. Officials like Director Mr. Rose Thomasi defend the exam as reasonable, while many headmasters call some questions extremely difficult and beyond student capability.
A note from last week describes a rural gathering at a farm event near Glen Innes. Attendees included A J Clothier and Miss Hubie Hutton who received thanks for their contributions to artistic displays and fundraising efforts.

The Russell Cup first round draw is published with dates through 27 November for completion.
Guyra A and Ollera played to a draw on the home ground after a slow start. Rod Mackenzie starred with bowling and a later 28, while Jim Woolward took 1 for 12 in his first over on the Cardata innings. Guyra’s batting contributors included Mitchie and Helyar, with Mackenzie again contributing.
A farewell gathering at Kiges Cafe on Monday night honored Mr J Ryan portmaster of Goyra as he leaves for Coonamble. Guests included G A Jones and others with toasts to Guyra Cricket Club Guyra District and the local football and tennis groups. Ryan received a gold watch a gold chain and a suitcase for his service to the town and district.
Guyra visits Aberfoyle and loses by 21 runs in a low scoring first innings. McCook takes 7 for 27 for Guyra and Grills 4 for 10 for Aberfoyle as bowlers dominate. Scoring stalls with early wickets and minutes of play before lunch yielding only 35 runs.
